EUROPE TRIP FOR LIKE MINDED WOMEN!!!
My name is Dilushani and I'm from Victoria, Australia. I am 26.
I've never been to Europe so for 2014, I have taken 5 months off to travel and see as much as I can. I don't plan on seeing every country I possibly can. I might skip a few and come back another time in my life. But basically I am happy to do anything!!
I haven't made any firm plans except for the below:
- Arrive in Zurich on Wednesday 12th Feb. I don't know what I'll do while I'm in Switzerland but one of the things I would like to do is get the Glacier Express and go on this panoramic train ride to see the Swiss Alps. It's supposed to be spectacular!!
- I want to go to the Venice Carnevale (Festival of Masks). The festival starts on Friday 21st Feb and goes until Tuesday 4th March. The first 2 days and the last day are probably the nicest to see, but being amongst it all would be pretty cool. I haven't yet decided if I'll stay in Venice for the full 12 days or explore doing day trips and be back for the finale on Tuesday 4th March.
- Basically I want to see ALL of Italy if I can. I have 5 months, but maybe 2 months should be enough (nothing is planned!!)
- Fly out of Barcelona Tuesday July 26th 2014, and the last festival I want to be at is the Running of the Bulls festival in Pampalona, Spain
The rest of the trip is unplanned completely!! I would be very flexible and happy to visit many different countries depending on what the group wants to do :D
The kind of holiday/travel I envision is:
- relaxed, easy going, explore cities at our own pace
- most likely travelling by train. But we could try bus or plane or even rent/buy a car and do a road trip!
- Staying in NICER hostels/motels/or renting an apartment that sleeps like 6 (eg if we have 6 in the group). Making dinners together some of the time and eating out at exciting places the rest of the time. I don't mind roughing it and staying in hostels just to minimise costs, but we can take a group vote etc
- Being able to visit lots of museums, historical sites, cultural places. Learn about the history of a city
- Shopping!
- Beaches if we're in a location that is warm enough
- Would love to go outdoors a little bit and go on day hikes and see the countryside, smell the fresh air
- Meeting new people, making new friends!!
If people aren't available for the WHOLE 5 months that I'm doing, but can join for a month or 2, please feel free to still express interest. If there's a particular country or city you'd like to see, we could try and organise the trip so that way we go there when you're available also
Basically this is as FLEXIBLE and RELAXED as you can get it!! :D :D
