I travelled around South America last year & LOVED it ! My travel buddy can't afford to go this year so I have decided to see if anyone is interested in joining me. This year I fancy visiting Central America, travelling by hop on hop off bus, staying in high end hostels/cheap hotels (maybe with the odd expensive hotel thrown in here & there) to visit countries such as Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica.

 STA Travel has a lot of interesting trips & route ideas. We used these last year for planning our route but did everything independently such as paying for hostels, buses etc and saved hundreds on the STA prices.

I plan to spend my time visiting temples used by ancient tribes, trekking through jungles, trawling markets for beads, stones & jewellery, sunbathing on paradise beaches, relaxing by drinking cocktails and dancing the night away. Is there anyone who wants to join me?

I am thinking of spending 2-3 weeks travelling and then the final week in a remote beach resort attending Yoga classes and relaxing on the beach in one of the hippy towns in Costa Rica such as Malpais or Santa Teresa before flying home from San Jose.

I haven't decided on exact dates yet but will update this post once I have a better idea. I am now looking at some time between end of September to November 2011. Ideally I would like to be in Mexico City for the Day of The Dead celebrations at the end of October but it may not be possible if I have to plan the rest of my trip working my way down to Costa Rica around the monsoon season :( Costa Rica can apparently be visited at any time of year :)

I don't mind more than 1 travel buddy but it would be good to get 4 rather than 3 (I have had a previous bad experience of girls travelling in threes!).
