Hi All
I with a few other ladies are going to Rome in May - we do not appear to have a guide on our travel guides section so just wondered if there were any hints and tips
I went there for a day last May so have an insight but any info would be good thanks M
Hi Michelle
I've found a couple of useful sites with hints and tips:
http://www.rome.info/tips/avoid/
(the 10th tip says "ONE THING YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO AVOID........FALLING IN LOVE WITH ROME")

Hi Matilda thats great thanks so much M
was there 3 years ago..........used the subway........really cheap, 1 euro per journey or just get a map from the tourist office and walk. The basilicas especially St. Peter's and cathedrals are awesome and free!!!!!
Wimcanary, if you had to pick just one favourite experience from your Rome trip what would it be?
The Vatican City
Hi Matilda we must go there then - I hear from liz the tour of the Vatican is expensive around 50 euros - but it would be worth it M
Hi Michelle, my son nd his girlfriend went to Rome last year and they also said that the Vatican is a must see. I believe they went to some lovely gardens too, will check with him and let you know. As I said previously, I've had to postpone my trip to Rome due to cost of roof works but it's definitely on my list for the next year or so.
Hi Sharon oh sorry to hear you cannot make it this year sure you will do soonest
yes LizD has been to the Vatican and said it was wonderful also found some info on gardens bfn M x
I can recommend this Italian walking tour company if you want to do something a bit different - they do a behind the scenes tour of the Vatican and a load of tours around Rome: http://www.walksofitaly.com/tour_bookings/tour_listing/6/6 I did a couple of their tours in other parts of Italy and found them really interesting. A friend of mine also did a good food and wine tour and wrote about it on her blog: http://travelwithkat.com/2012/09/26/pairing-italian-wine-and-food/
