Just joined. Not sure how to use forums, etc. yet. Excited to meet new travel enthusiasts!! From the USA. Have traveled to most states and several countries. More into food and shopping than adventure. Looking forward to meeting people and travel!

Just shy of 28, I'm getting my teaching certificate. Graduated from college in 2010 with a degree in history and a minor in French. My skill level in French is shaky; never did a semester abroad and truthfully, I'm not dedicated enough to study it on my own. When in France, chances are I'll be able to understand 75% of the conversation and then ask where the bathrooms are. I'm really good at asking where things are. Lived in Colorado for 8 months in 2011. I made a lot of international friends when I worked at a resort so I've got places to stay and tour guides all over the world.

Eventually, I'd like to trek in Nepal, Africa and Patagonia. I'd love to see Central and Eastern Europe, Spain, Portugal, Morocco, safari in South Africa or Kenya and hang out in Brazil and Peru. Basically, I want to travel and I'm pretty open to where that happens.

Full disclosure, I'm not the most organized person in the world, or the wealthiest, so my ideal travel plan would be one that's well-planned with an allowance for wiggle room on a shoestring budget. I'm also willing to discuss time abroad.

I'm 47 years old and live in Blackpool, UK. I'm warm, friendly, intelligent and have a great sense of humour despite having 2 'grown up' children who I am still semi-supporting! I run my own business which dominates much of my time. I want to travel to Thailand, Malaysia and Borneo, perhaps in February 2014, and am looking to meet a like-minded travel companion / friend who would also like to travel to the east early next year. I am easy to chat to and share experiences with, and I also like my own company and space.
I love good food, cocktails, relaxation and laughter. Add a spa, a massage followed by lots of sunshine, beautiful scenery, stunning sunsets and I'm in heaven! I love to immerse myself in new cultures.
I am happily single and most of my friends are in relationships so unable to join me for a long haul getaway and Thailand is on my 'to do' list!
